Public Speaking for 6th Graders
New World is built for the biggest social transition in a student's life — the jump into middle school. Every student walks in carrying something new: a new campus, new peers, new teachers who don't know them yet. This track teaches them to use their voice as the thing that helps them belong — not something they have to earn the right to use first.
The name is intentional. New World is about arriving somewhere and figuring out how to be heard in it. That's not a skill most 6th graders were taught — it's usually something that just happens to you, or doesn't. This track makes it deliberate.
Every session is structured so nobody gets ambushed. The first reps are short, low-stakes, and framed for students who have never spoken in front of a group on purpose. By Day 5, they're performing a live showcase in front of parents — and most of them want to do it again.
Five sessions — built to build
Summer: five consecutive days, 90 minutes each. Fall/spring: once a week for five weeks, 60 minutes each.
- 01The Room You're Already InYou're already a great communicator. This session takes that same version of you into rooms where nobody knows you yet.
- 02The MechanicsYour body talks before you do. Stance, voice projection, and deliberate eye contact — installed, not performed.
- 03The REAL PitchRelatable. Engaging. Authentic. Linked. Your first rep with the framework that runs through every Rhetrix track.
- 04Two RoomsWhat changes when the room moves from in-person to on-camera? Session 4 is where we close that gap.
- 05ShowcaseA live presentation in front of parents. Your first real room, with a real audience, and real applause.
